To build power for West Virginia women, we must start by electing moderate, accountable leadership.

The WVWA supports those interested in running for office in West Virginia who are dedicated to advancing policies with positive outcomes for women and families.

We believe that access to reproductive care and the right to make decisions concerning one’s bodily autonomy are core human rights and are critical for women to participate fully and equally in society. Evidence has shown that laws and initiatives stemming from sex-based classifications have had devastating impacts not only on women’s health, but on the quality of our healthcare system, state-wide economy, efforts to retain our declining population base, and ability to attract progressive thought leaders and business opportunities to our state.

Who can better represent our rights and interests than us? While we support those candidates who support these ideals, we also encourage women to get involved politically in our state.
